Program Overview
Spend the summer in Cork City, a formerly industrial city full of charming heritage sites mixed with a modern revitalized cosmopolitan life. On the south coast of Ireland, Cork is about 160 miles from Dublin at the head of Cork Harbour, in view of the mountains, and less than 2 hours drive from the lakes of Killarney. A busy seaport, Cork is also the commercial and cultural center for southern Ireland, home to international film and jazz festivals as well as a busy nightlife.

Academics
The program will be held on the beautiful University College Cork campus in both historic and modern buildings. Classes, taught by NC State faculty, will be complemented by visits to Irish construction sites, the University College Cork Civil Engineering Department, and local infrastructure. Students will further explore the history and culture of Ireland through excursions to museums and historical sites, including a multi-day trip to Dublin.
