About the University
University of Ghana - Legon, Ghana
Language of Instruction: English

The Legon campus lies about 8 miles northeast of Accra, the capital city. Coursework is offered within the faculties of business, science, social science, agriculture, arts, engineering, and performing arts. Recommended fields are African dance, music, theater, resource development, agriculture, and the social sciences. The University of Ghana provides ample opportunities to participate in team sports such as basketball, swimming, volleyball, and soccer. Participation on these teams often includes travel to other West African countries or cities in Ghana for competition.
Language Prerequisite: None

The Transfer Credit Database lists courses that have been previously approved for NC State students at the University of Ghana.  Please note: their applicability to a specific degree program varies by department.  This list is not inclusive.  Additional courses can be approved for credit by using the course approval form and process, which is a part of the application for study abroad.  Please refer to the academic information on the host university website for all courses available to study abroad students.

About ISEP

ISEP is an organization of over 100 institutions which have agreed to participate in student exchanges. NC State's participation in ISEP allows you to attend universities in 41 countries worldwide.

ISEP Ghana provides a Global Engagement Program as a part of the Ghana experience.  Opportunities within the community may include: volunteer work, service learning for academic credit, independent study, community service, internships and/or research projects. A supplemental fee for this services is required as a part of this program for exchange student participants.  More information is available on the program homepage.

  • ISEP Direct
    • Students pay tuition, room and board directly to ISEP.
    • Cost for ISEP Direct programs is available on the ISEP Direct website.
    • Not competitive as long as a student meets the minimum requirements.
    • Best option for out-of-state students. This is not available for every program. Please see the ISEP Direct website for a list of ISEP Direct sites.
    • Some ISEP Direct programs have an extended deadline - check with your Study Abroad Advisor for details.
