Argentina: Marketing
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Designed for all Poole majors and minors, this Maymester program introduces students to the broad field of marketing while also exploring in depth how marketing and business is done in Argentina. While living and studying in downtown Buenos Aires, students experience the city’s culture, a combination of European inspiration and Latin American heritage, by touring the city's major sights, participating in tango lessons, and tasting the local cuisine. Beyond Buenos Aires, students learn about the rich cowboy history of rural Argentina by visiting an authentic Argentina estancia (ranch). Students also take a weekend excursion to Mendoza, the wine region of the country to see how marketing is used in these businesses.

ACADEMICS
Through guest lectures by faculty from the Universidad de San Andres and visits to international corporations in Buenos Aires, students explore how a variety of companies use marketing within their business strategies from both a local and international perspective. Students will learn the basics of marketing with an emphasis on the four P's - product, place, price and promotion. In the Doing Business Globally course, students will assess how marketing and other aspects of business in Argentina are influenced by the cultural, historical, political and legal context of the country.
