  • The Viña del Mar campus was designed by José Cruz, winner of the National Architecture Prize in 2012.
  • There is a first-class library and gym and aerobic rooms which will be available to exchange students.
Academics Housing
Students have a few housing choices.
  • If students would like to find an apartment, the International Office at UAI can provide resources to help you. Check out their housing guide.
  • If students would like to live with a home stay family, they can apply through a company called NexoChile. Please ask your study abroad advisor for more information if you are interested in living with a home stay family.
Money Matters
  • Cost information is shown in the budget link, above. Financial aid is generally available to help qualified NC State students meet the expenses of study abroad.
  • For additional funding, NC State students should consider applying for a study abroad scholarship, and check out other ideas for funding study abroad.
  • *Direct Enroll Option- In the event of limited exchange spaces, students can be accepted to UAI and will attend via the Direct Enroll (non-exchange) option.  Those students who are accepted to the program as non-exchange will pay tuition and fees directly to Universidad Adolfo Ibanez.  Please consult the program budget sheet for cost details. The Direct Enroll tuition is substantially less expensive than out-of-state tuition.  Therefore it is considered a great cost-effective study abroad option for out-of-state students!
Travel Documents
  • Apply for a passport ASAP. If you already have a passport, make sure that it will be valid for 6 months after you return from your program.
  • UAI will help you with the visa process.
