NC State students may study abroad through any program sponsored by a U.S. accredited institution, accredited third-party provider, or direct enroll at an accredited institution overseas. Programs vary, and participants will need to contact individual program sponsors for specifics. Please see Choosing a Program for advice on selecting a Non-NC State program.
Instructions
1. Submit application materials to the non-NC State, unaffiliated program provider. This could involve going to the provider's website and submitting an application online and paying an application fee to the program provider. Programs vary, and you will need to contact individual program sponsors for specifics.
All transcripts for non-NC State Programs should be sent to the Study Abroad Office at:
NCSU Study Abroad Office
315 Holmes Hall
Campus Box 7344
Raleigh, NC 27695
USA
2. Additionally, in order to remain enrolled at NC State during your time abroad, students must complete the Third-Party NC State application here by clicking the "Apply Now" button on this page, including the Course Approval Form (necessary course descriptions should be obtained from the program sponsor). The application facilitates the transfer credit process, notes the study abroad experience on NC State transcripts, and allows students eligibility for NC State Financial Aid and Study Abroad scholarships. It also allows NC State to provide essential risk management and emergency response support.
